The head, according to scientists is the most important part of the body. Since it is the seat of the brain, no other part can outmatch it.

The brain is responsible for all human activities either directly or indirectly.

Pain in the head is fatal to the overall well-being of an individual. This is why a lot of us are annoyed and we fell concerned whenever we have pain in the head or a headache.

A headache is a health condition that comes along with pain both in its mild and severe form. It is the symptom of pain anywhere in the region of the head or neck.

There are minor headaches, one-sided headaches, and severe one. Also, different types of headaches abound and their numerous causes.

Headaches are one of the most common medical complaints; most people experience them at some point in their life. They can affect anyone regardless of age, race, and gender.

Tension and stress are the major causes of headaches. Tension headache occurs when there is a constant ache or pressure around the head, especially at the temples or back of the head and neck.

Another type of a headache is cluster headache. Cluster headaches are recurring headaches that occur in groups or cycles. They appear suddenly and are characterized by severe, debilitating pain on one side of the head. This affects more men than women.

Migraine is another type of a headache. It is very severe and comes with a lot of pain.

Causes of a headache include stress, head injury, exhaustion, fatigue and tiredness, loud noises, common colds, sleep deprivation, drug abuse, viral infections, extremely cold beverages or foods, etc.

Treatment of a headache depends on the underlying causes. Ways to come out of this annoying health condition are;

1. Embrace the habit of having a proper rest.

2. Don’t overuse yourself, avoid stress and known stressors.

3. Seek medical advice before using drugs, don’t practice self-medication or misuse of drugs.

4. Don’t deprive yourself of good sleep.

5. Take pain medication or pain relief.

6. Eat a balanced diet, don’t depend on junks.

7. See a doctor if a headache persists.
