Movie-Style Popcorn
When it comes to movie munchies, popcorn bombs. A medium-size bag can feature three days’ worth of saturated fat. This is so unhealthy for teenagers.
Full-fat dairy products
Dairy is a great source of calcium and a must for still-growing bones, but butter, whole milk, ice cream, and cheese are oozing with saturated fat—which is unhealthy and can lead to heart disease. Reach for fat-free dairy and skim milk instead.
Sugary Cereals
Most of us grow up thinking a bowl of cereal is a healthy way to start the day, but the truth is, what’s in most boxes in the cereal aisle isn’t much better for you than what’s in the cookie aisle. The sky-high sugar content is to blame (a bowl of your typical sugary cereal has as much sugar as three chocolate chip cookies).
Chips
Loaded with fat and sodium, along with dozens of weird preservatives, corn and potato chips are another food to avoid.
They’ll destroy even the most conscientious diet, and since they’re often fried, may cause acne break-outs.
Fast Foods
Did you know that one fast food value meal (burger, fries, drink) can contain as many calories as you’re supposed to eat in one whole day?
Not to mention the high fat content, chemically-processed ingredients, and big potential for food-borne illnesses, like deadly e coli.
Avoid fast food… and if you can’t, then opt for something a little healthier, like a salad without dressing or a grilled chicken sandwich without the mayo.
Frozen Foods
Most frozen foods (TV dinners) are loaded with nasty chemicals and lots of fat and sodium.
Some aren’t though, so be sure to check labels before you buy.
